Important: Forms, once signed by the head of the examination commission, will be returned to the student via email. It is the students responsibility to submit the completed form to the examination for final processing.
An extension of the Master Thesis or Research Project can be requested if you are unable to complete the project on time due to circumstances beyond your control, such as:
- Medical Problems:
The original doctor's note with the doctor's signature is required (translated if not in english/german) - Technical Problems:
Hardware related issues. A letter from your advisor confirming the issues and their recommendation for the length of the extension should be included. The professors signature is also needed on the extenstion form.
Submit the completed extenstion form along with any other required documents (ie. doctor's note, Confirmation of technical issues from advisor) using the form below.
Once the extension form is signed by the head of the exam commission, it will be returned you. You are then responsible for submitting the document to the examination office for final processing. You can submit it here.
Requests should be submitted without delay!
If you need to withdraw from an exam exceeding the '7-days-prior' rule, you will need permission from the head of the examination commission.
Fill in the Examination Date / Examination Number (as listed in C@mpus), the attempt (1st, 2nd, 3rd) and the full name of the module/examination and you personal details including your student ID number.
Research Project:
To deregister from your research project the withdrawal form must be signed by the examiner/advisor of your research project and the head of the examination commission.
Thr form, once signed by the head of the exam commission, will be returned you. You are then responsible for submitting the document to the examination office for final processing. You can submit it here.
Note: Credits that have been counted towards your bachelor degree/grade cannot be recognized.
If you are switching between master programs, or have completed some master modules during a semester abroad you can apply to have completed courses counted towards your INFOTECH degree.

- the CP's match between the module taken and the one you wish to replace
- the examiner of the module has signed the form* (include a course description)
- please include transcripts for the original courses
- the points listed above are completed before submitting the form
*Important as the head of the examination commission needs the examiners 'ok' to evaluate and accept the recognition of the modules. It is the responsibility of the student to gather the signatures from the examiners.

If you cannot find a thesis topic in time you need to make a hand-written, signed request to the Chairman of the Examination Commission to assign you a Master thesis topic. In order to evaluate the situation you have to attach the document below where you list the Professors you have already contacted. Please make sure that you follow the steps as mentioned in the document. Don’t forget to add copies of the topics as they had been published by the respective institute.

Description of data
An uncoded e-mail in clear text will be generated from the information you provide in the contact form, and will be sent to the INFOTECH Office of the University of Stuttgart. We require the information marked with a *, such as name and e-mail address in order contact you via e-mail and to further process your request.
In addition to your entries in the form fields, the date and time will be recorded in the generated e-mail.
Purpose
The contact form enables a simplified means of getting in touch with the INFOTECH Office of the University of Stuttgart electronically, without an e-mail program needing to be used.
Legal basis
The legal basis is Article 6 Paragraph 1 Letter e) GDPR together with Article 6 Paragraph 3 GDPR and § 4 of the State Data Protection Act (Landesdatenschutzgesetz).
Recipients
Your message is received by the employees and student assistants of the INFOTECH Office of the University of Stuttgart.
Storage duration
The personal data you enter in this form will be processed solely for the purpose stated and will be deleted after 5 years. After the 5 years have passed, the email and all related data will be deleted.
Consequences of non-provision, right of objection and correction
The use of the form is voluntary. If you do not wish to use the form or to send us an email at office@infotech.uni-stuttgart.de
You are free to provide your name and email address in the form of a pseudonym when entering data, which means that the University cannot assign the information to a person. Should you not wish for your identity to be disclosed, it may then be the case that your matter cannot be processed.
You have the right to receive information from the university concerning the data saved in relation to your person and/or to have incorrectly saved data corrected. In addition, you have the right to deletion or to have the processing restricted or to object to the processing.
For this purpose, please contact the INFOTECH Office at the University of Stuttgart. Please note that in case of the deletion of data, optimal support may not be guaranteed.
