Die proofnet GmbH ist spezialisiert auf den Security PenTest im Bereich Connected Car. Wir arbeiten mit internationalen Kunden im Automobilbereich zusammen, darunter sowohl OEMs als auch Zulieferer von Connected Car Steuergeräten. Wir unterstützen unsere Kunden bei der Entwicklung und Absicherung von Steuergeräten zukünftiger Fahrzeuggenerationen und begleiten damit den Entwicklungsprozess.
Für Böblingen suchen wir motivierte Werkstudenten als Automotive Software Tester (m/w/d) für die Bereiche Security PenTest & Functional Validation Connected Car.
DEINE AUFGABEN
Deine Aufgaben werden abgestimmt in Abhängigkeit Deiner Interessen und den bereits vorhandenen Erfahrungen und
umfassen zum Beispiel:
Functional Validation
Du untersuchst Wireless / Wired Network Interfaces sowie die allgemeine Internet Connectivity und Backend Kommunikation der Steuergeräte. Außerdem trägst Du zur Absicherung der IP basierten Fahrzeug Kommunikation bei.
Security Pentesting
Je nach Vorkenntnissen und Fortschritt der Einarbeitung unterstützt bzw. führst Du nach und nach eigenständig Penetration Tests an Connected Car Steuergeräten durch. Hierzu gehören unter anderem
• Firewalls, TLS + Certificate Chains, etc.
• Der sichere Einsatz von Containerumgebungen wie Docker, Podman & Co.
• CVE Recherchen, PoC / Exploit Anwendung und Entwicklung
• Die Möglichkeiten HW Absicherungen zu umgehen und Debug Schnittstellen freizulegen
DEIN PROFIL
Du begeisterst Dich für neue technische Herausforderungen. Außerdem verfügst Du über eine schnelle Auffassungsgabe und ausgeprägte analytische Fähigkeiten und Du bist bereit eigenverantwortlich im Team zu arbeiten.
Du studierst Informatik, IT Security, Elektro und Informationstechnik oder einen vergleichbaren (z.B. naturwissenschaftlichen) Studiengang.
Alternativ oder on the top zu Deinem Studium interessierst du Dich brennend für das Thema Security und hast daher bereits erste Erfahrungen im Bereich Pentesting / Cyber Security z.B. aus Praktika, Jobs, privaten Projekten oder durch erfolgreiche CTF Teilnahmen gesammelt? Umso besser!
Im Arbeitsalltag bei proofnet sind Kenntnisse aus einem oder mehreren der folgenden Bereiche für uns von Interesse:
• Gute bis sehr gute Kenntnisse von Betriebssystemen wie Linux, Android oder QNX
• Gute Kenntnisse der Programmiersprachen C/C++ oder Python
• Netzwerkkommunikationen via TCP/IP, Ethernet, Vlan , 802.11 WiFi, Bluetooth, Wireshark für das Sniffing
• Gute bis sehr gute Kenntnisse in Deutsch und Englisch

Proofnet GmbH specializes in Security PenTest in the Connected Car sector. We work with international customers in the automotive sector, including both OEMs and suppliers of connected car control units. We support our customers in developing and securing ECUs of future vehicle generations and thus accompany the development process.
For Böblingen, we are looking for motivated Working Students as Automotive Software Tester (m/f/d) for the areas of Security PenTest & Functional Validation - Connected Car.
YOUR TASKS
Your tasks will be coordinated depending on your interests and the experience you already have and will include for example:
Functional Validation
You will investigate wireless / wired network interfaces as well as the general internet connectivity and backend communication of the ECUs. You will also contribute to securing IP based vehicle communication.
Security Pentesting
Depending on your previous knowledge and the progress of your training, you will gradually support and independently perform penetration tests on connected car control units. This includes among others
- Firewalls, TLS + Certificate Chains, etc.
- The secure use of container environments such as Docker, Podman & Co.
- CVE research, PoC / Exploit application and development.
- The possibilities to bypass HW protections and expose debug interfaces.
YOUR PROFILE
You are enthusiastic about new technical challenges. In addition, you have a quick grasp and strong analytical skills and you are willing to work independently in a team.
You are studying Computer Science, IT-Security, Electrical Engineering and Information Technology or a comparable (e.g. natural science) course of study.
Alternatively or on top of your studies you are interested in the topic of Security and have already gained some experience in the area of Pentesting / Cyber Security, e.g. from internships, jobs, private projects or successful CTF participations? All the better!
In your daily work at proofnet, knowledge in one or more of the following areas is of interest to us:
- Good to very good knowledge of operating systems such as Linux, Android or QNX.
- Good knowledge of the programming languages C/C++ or Python
- Network communications via TCP/IP, Ethernet, Vlan , 802.11 WiFi, Bluetooth, Wireshark for sniffing
- Good to very good knowledge of German and English
