WUS Award 2020 “Education for Sustainable Development” - Application is open

The German committee of World University Service (WUS) awards final theses of graduate students – from all scientific areas – that deal with topics of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the Agenda 2030 of the United Nations.

The German committee of World University Service (WUS) awards final theses of graduate students of German universities – from all scientific areas – that deal with one of the following topics of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the Agenda 2030 of the United Nations:

  • Education for Sustainable Development
  • Global Learning
  • Human Right to Education
  • Migration/Flight

The prize is embedded in the National German Action Plan for the World Action Plan for Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) and is donated by the former Herder Club, Dresden.
Diploma, master, bachelor and state examination theses or comparable examination papers can be submitted – not doctoral theses. The thesis should be completed and submitted in the calendar year 2019 and be written in German or English.


The complete application – please only in electronic form – must be submitted by 29 February 2020 at the latest to preis@wusgermany.de

The prize consists of € 1.500,-. It can also be divided. The work is selected by an independent jury and honoured at a ceremony.
